This page compares five email platforms that can take over what Klaviyo does for an online store: MailerLite, Brevo, Omnisend, Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign. For each, it prices the lowest paid plan without the entry-tier automation limits described below, at three list sizes: 2,500, 10,000 and 25,000, counted the way each vendor counts its list. Every price was read from the vendor’s US pricing page on 22 September 2026.
The five are ordered by their lowest compared cost for a list of 10,000; for Brevo, that means four emails per contact a month. At ten emails per contact, Brevo costs $139, above Omnisend Standard at $132 and Mailchimp Standard at $135. This is a price presentation, not a quality ranking: the page compares prices and plan terms, not deliverability, ease of use, reporting, support or the work of migrating.
Klaviyo alternatives, in short. If the priority is a lower email-plan price, compare Omnisend Standard: it cost less than Klaviyo Email at every size compared, though Omnisend counts non-subscribers who received automated messages, new subscriptions need Pro for SMS, and Standard charges extra for product recommendations and conditional content. On price alone, MailerLite Comfort was the cheapest plan charged by list size at all three sizes, with no SMS in its marketing plans. For a big list emailed about four times a month, Brevo, which charges by emails sent, cost the least at 25,000 contacts. And check Klaviyo’s own next step before your list grows: $150 a month at 10,000 active profiles, $350 at 15,000.
What is a Klaviyo alternative?
A Klaviyo alternative is an email platform that can take over the store work Klaviyo does. Klaviyo’s pricing page describes that work as syncing contacts and activity data, building automations, segmenting, and sending SMS as well as email. A replacement has to cover the same four jobs, or the switch gives one of them up.
Each of the five below connects to Shopify, according to its own pricing or integration pages. They differ in three places: what they charge for, what the cheaper plans leave out, and how they handle SMS.
How do the prices compare?
For a list of 10,000, the plans compared ranged from $89 a month (MailerLite Comfort at up to 10,000 active subscribers, and Brevo Standard at 40,000 emails, four per contact) to $189 (ActiveCampaign Plus at 10,000 contacts, billed annually), with Klaviyo Email at $150 for 10,000 active profiles. These are US list prices in USD, read on 22 September 2026, before tax, introductory offers, SMS spend and add-ons.
| Plan compared | 2,500 | 10,000 | 25,000 | Charges by | Emails a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Klaviyo Email (the baseline) | $60 | $150 | $400 | Active profiles | 10× the profile tier |
| MailerLite Comfort | $33 | $89 | $179 | Subscribers | 10× the subscriber tier’s ceiling |
| Brevo Standard | $49–$79 | $89–$139 | $139–$249 | Emails sent | What you buy |
| Omnisend Standard | $44 | $132 | $282 | Billable contacts | 12× billable contacts |
| Mailchimp Standard | $60 | $135 | $310 | Contacts | 12× the maximum contact count |
| ActiveCampaign Plus | $95 | $189 | $389 | Contacts | 10× the contact limit |
Each list size is counted in the unit shown under “Charges by”. ActiveCampaign’s page shows only annual-billing prices, so its row is not directly comparable with the others, which are monthly-billing prices. Brevo’s range runs from four to ten emails per contact a month. Mailchimp’s figures are its regular prices, not its introductory offer. Omnisend’s billable contacts include non-subscribers who received automated messages, such as customers who ordered without opting in to marketing, so the count can be higher than a store’s subscriber count.
| Plan compared | SMS | Automation limit | Billing shown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Klaviyo Email | Priced per send: $0.01 plus carrier fees to the US from a toll-free number | Includes automated flows | Monthly |
| MailerLite Comfort | Not in the marketing plans; SMS sits in MailerSend, the transactional product | 50 active automations, up to 100 steps each | Monthly |
| Brevo Standard | Prepaid credits, bought separately, priced by country; they do not expire | Unlimited multi-step workflows | Monthly |
| Omnisend Standard | Not available to subscriptions started on or after 4 May 2026; on Pro, a separate add-on whose credits expire after 60 days | Automations run; sending stops at 12× billable contacts | Monthly |
| Mailchimp Standard | Add-on to paid plans in select countries, after application and approval; only to contacts in the country selected; monthly credits that expire; MMS to US and Canada contacts | Up to 200 flows | Monthly |
| ActiveCampaign Plus | Add-on; broadcast campaigns listed for the US and UK (one table adds Australia), MMS for the US and Australia | Unlimited actions per automation | Annual |
Omnisend Standard and MailerLite Comfort are those vendors’ entry paid plans. Brevo, Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign are compared one plan up, because Brevo Starter limits automation to 2,000 contacts, Mailchimp Essentials caps flows at four steps and ActiveCampaign Starter allows five actions per automation.
Klaviyo counts active profiles, which its pricing page describes as contacts who may receive marketing emails. Its builder showed $150 a month at 10,000 active profiles, $175 at 10,500 and $350 at 15,000.
MailerLite
Built for. MailerLite says Comfort is for sending regular newsletters and running automations.
Where it is strong. MailerLite Comfort had the lowest price of the plans compared that charge by list size, at all three sizes: $33, $89 and $179 a month, billed monthly. Its plan comparison lists a Shopify integration and ecommerce automation triggers. Power, at $49, $129 and $239, removes the monthly email cap, subject to a fair-use policy, and the limit on active automations.
Where it falls short. SMS is not in the marketing plans; the pricing page puts it in MailerSend, MailerLite’s separate transactional product. Comfort’s monthly email limit is 10 times its subscriber tier’s ceiling, not the exact subscriber count, and it allows 50 active automations of up to 100 steps each. MailerLite also counts every subscriber who was active at any point in a billing cycle, even one deleted before the cycle ends.
Brevo
Built for. A large list emailed about four times a month or less. Brevo charges by the number of emails sent, not the number of contacts, and from 20,000 emails a month Standard includes up to 500,000 contacts.
Where it is strong. At 25,000 contacts emailed four times a month, which is 100,000 emails, Standard cost $139 a month: the lowest of the six plans compared at that size. At 10,000 contacts and four emails each (40,000 emails), it cost $89, level with MailerLite Comfort. Standard includes an unlimited number of multi-step workflows, with no contact limit on automation.
Where it falls short. The saving depends on sending less. At ten emails per contact, 25,000 contacts is 250,000 emails and $249 a month, above MailerLite Comfort’s $179. Brevo’s volume counts transactional email as well as campaigns. The low tiers carry contact limits: at 2,500 contacts, the cheapest Standard tier that covers the list is $49 for 15,000 emails, because the 10,000-email tier includes only 1,500 contacts. Starter limits automation to 2,000 contacts. Brevo’s help center lists AI product recommendations and back-in-stock alerts on Professional, from $499 a month and 150,000 emails. SMS is sold as prepaid credits, priced by the recipient’s country; the credits do not expire.
Omnisend
Built for. Omnisend describes Standard as for businesses focused on email marketing, and Pro as for high-volume senders adding SMS.
Where it is strong. Omnisend Standard cost less than Klaviyo Email at all three sizes: $44, $132 and $282 a month, which is $16, $18 and $118 less at 2,500, 10,000 and 25,000 billable contacts. Automations run on Standard. Pro cost the same as Klaviyo at 10,000 and 25,000 billable contacts ($150 and $400) and $1 less at 2,500, with email sends Omnisend labels unlimited, subject to fair use of up to 60 times the list.
Where it falls short. Standard caps email at 12 times billable contacts a month, and Omnisend’s help center says that past the cap a Standard account cannot send campaigns and contacts who trigger automations are canceled from workflows until the cycle renews or the account upgrades. For subscriptions started on or after 4 May 2026, SMS is not available on Standard; on Pro it is a separate add-on with no credit included, priced by country and volume from $0.007 a message, a rate Omnisend says applies to high-volume US sends, and its SMS credits expire after 60 days. Omnisend calls Standard access to “most” features: product recommendations and conditional content come with Pro and are a paid add-on on Standard. Billable contacts include non-subscribers who received automated messages.
Mailchimp
Built for. Mailchimp says Standard is for selling more with automations, personalization and optimization tools.
Where it is strong. Mailchimp Standard matched Klaviyo Email at a list of 2,500 ($60) and cost $15 and $90 a month less at 10,000 and 25,000 ($135 and $310), counting Mailchimp contacts against Klaviyo active profiles. Its monthly send limit is 12 times its maximum contact count; the Klaviyo tiers compared include 10 emails per active profile. Mailchimp’s Shopify integration, in Mailchimp’s words, brings Shopify data into Mailchimp for email and SMS campaigns.
Where it falls short. SMS is an add-on to paid plans in select countries. It needs an application and approval, reaches only contacts in the country selected, and comes as monthly credits that expire unused; MMS is limited to Standard and Premium sending to US and Canada contacts. The plan below Standard, Essentials, caps flows at four steps. The prices here are Standard’s regular prices; on the day they were read, Mailchimp offered 15% off for 12 months to accounts with 10,000 contacts or more. The same page showed different prices to a visitor outside the US.
ActiveCampaign
Built for. ActiveCampaign says Plus is for going further with automation and customer insights.
Where it is strong. ActiveCampaign Plus allows unlimited actions in an automation. ActiveCampaign lists Shopify, Square and WooCommerce as standard ecommerce integrations, with abandoned cart among its ecommerce features.
Where it falls short. Plus had the highest price of the six plans compared at list sizes of 2,500 and 10,000 ($95 and $189 a month) and the second highest at 25,000 ($389). Those are annual-billing prices, and the page shows no monthly price to compare with the others. Plus’s monthly send limit is 10 times the contact limit. SMS is an add-on, and the pricing page lists personalized SMS broadcast campaigns for the US and UK only (one of its tables adds Australia), with MMS in the US and Australia only. Starter, the plan below, allows five actions per automation.
How do you pick a Klaviyo alternative?
Compare four things against your own account: list size and how often you email it, whether you need SMS and what it costs, the automation limits of the plan, and whether the price shown needs annual billing. Then check the next tier you are likely to cross: on 22 September 2026, Klaviyo Email cost $150 a month at 10,000 active profiles and $350 at 15,000.
- How big is the list, and how often is it emailed? Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign charge by contacts, Omnisend by billable contacts and MailerLite by subscribers. Brevo charges by emails sent, so it cost the least at 25,000 contacts emailed about four times a month, and more than MailerLite Comfort at ten emails per contact.
- Do you send SMS? For a new subscriber, none of the five includes SMS credit in the compared plan’s price, and each sells it on its own terms: which plan, which countries, and whether credits expire. The second table above sets them side by side.
- How much automation do your flows need? The entry plans carry the tightest limits: 2,000 contacts in automation on Brevo Starter, four flow steps on Mailchimp Essentials, five actions per automation on ActiveCampaign Starter. On the plans compared, MailerLite Comfort allows 50 active automations and Mailchimp Standard up to 200 flows.
- Monthly or annual? ActiveCampaign’s page shows annual-billing prices only.
Klaviyo vs Omnisend: which costs less?

Omnisend Pro cost the same as Klaviyo Email at 10,000 and 25,000 and $1 less at 2,500, with email sends Omnisend labels unlimited, subject to fair use of up to 60 times the list. Klaviyo counts active profiles; Omnisend counts billable contacts, which include non-subscribers who received automated messages.
| Klaviyo Email | Omnisend Standard | Omnisend Pro | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2,500 | $60 | $44 | $59 |
| 10,000 | $150 | $132 | $150 |

| Counted as | Active profiles | Billable contacts | Billable contacts |

New paid Omnisend subscribers can take 30% off their first three months, once, by paying for the three months upfront; the prices above are the regular monthly prices.
